We Give Thanks

Here at CLI we give thanks to God for His love and all the blessings He generously sends our way.

• We give thanks for all the inmates who came to Christ in 2011.
• We give thanks for all the people who came to the CLI author dinner and gave so generously.
• We give thanks for the donated car which has been a great blessing.
• We give thanks for all the inmates enrolled in the CLI Leadership Bible study.
• We give thanks for all our volunteers who come in at their appointed times and answer letters or review Bible study lessons.
• We give thanks for all our virtual volunteers who review Bible studies at home.
• We give thanks for Sarah in Colorado who heads the West Coast Distribution Center and whose team collected and shipped over 2,500 books and Bibles this year!

Yes, CLI has been blessed and we are so honored that God chose this rag-tag team to reach into the prisons with His holy Word! We give thanks!

Reaching the Nations thru Prisons

We had just started distributing Christian books and Bibles to U.S. prisons when someone donated a Korean Bible. Anders and I asked each other, “What are we going to do with this?” Nevertheless we prayed about it and a couple of days later when Anders was on the phone with a prison chaplain he asked, “You wouldn’t happen to have a Korean Bible would you?”

Over the years we have seen God’s special work in matching Bibles in other languages with men and women from those countries. Currently we have a request from a chaplain for a Japanese Bible. We pray that God will fill that request.

But there is another aspect to providing Bibles to men and women from other cultures. They will find Jesus here in a U.S. prison cell and share the good news with others from that country. It may be a relative in the U.S. or upon release, go back to their native land taking the good news with them. It is exciting!

We are also praying for God to open doors in other nations so that we may take the gospel directly into the prisons there. Thailand is on our radar screen and we are praying that it is on God’s also. In the meantime, we are thankful that God has His hand upon CLI and is blessing the nations in unique ways through the imprisoned.

Bibles Shipped

Here's a sight we haven't seen for quite a while - a clean hall! For the last several months, boxes and boxes of donated Bibles have been awaiting shipment! Because of the success of the Author Dinner in October, CLI is now able to ship God's Word to the prisons we serve.


Here's a view of our shipping room! Stamping teams came in and stamped hundreds of Christian books and Bibles which are now ready to be shipped! Praise the Lord!
